I get on AOL today and I see the headline of the Rev. Jesse Jackson being asked to intervene in a hostage situation. It seems that the family of Thomas Hamill asked Mr. Jackson to help free him from captivity. I have some thoughts about this news item that I will post briefly.

First, Mr. Hamill's family should feel free to contact Mr. Jackson if that's their peragative, and Mr. Jackson has a small history of getting hostages released. I just wonder though if this might be a publicity stunt of sorts.

Second, Mr. Jackson is welcome to contact the family of Mr. Hamill if he wishes and I would hope that he would join the prayer vigils and prayer meetings being held in Mississippi for Mr. Hamill's release. If you ask me, earnestly asking the Christian God in prayer would be the best route taken by all parties involved. The Lord can move the captors of this truck driver to release him just as He moved to take out Sadam Hussien. What I would seek would be a victory over Islam, not a peace with it.

Third and final point, CIVIL RIGHTS LEADER!?!?!?!?!?! Are you kidding me?!?!?! Jesse Jackson is no "civil rights leader", he's a racial hustler and political hack and extortion artist. I will comment more about this later.
